Honorable Mentions
Figure-Focused

Capturing Character

56 entries delighted us in this category celebrating minifigure characters and their tales – and storied creations were the result.

There can only be two winners though, so without further ado:

Winner: Aurore

Alrune's Study

The light peaks through the tall windows, and a portal promises far-away lands. Artifact-laden shelves tell tales of past adventures. Mage-Governor of Embervale Alrune’s study invites a second (and third!) look and paints a picture of a character well-versed in her metier – don’t you want to more about her?

This masterful submission by Aurore won over the judges in a storm – congratulations on this well-deserved win!

Runner-Up: baixoNL

Loner

The majestic waterfall in the distance, this vista might have just been what the lone warrior has been searching for. Kneeling in front of a totem on a rock overlooking the vast landscape, this view is surely moving.

Tranquil and alluring, baixoNL’s carefully-crafted submission is a pastel-colored piece of art and a well-deserving second place. Congratulations!

Honorable Mentions
Of Short Kings & Stout Lovers

Dwarf Tales

A mountainous 43 entries unearthed tales of the small but mighty. Caverns and thrones, dragons and gold, beards and beer – this category’s entries had it all.

There can only be two winners though, so without further ado:

Winner: Ghalad

Red Dwarf

Dark magic, meteors, a hefty armor and lights to boot – this entry by Ghalad featured it all!

Ready to throw some fireballs, this black-haired dwarf is a fiery fellow. Chainmail and heavy armor protect him from his foes, beautifully ornate, with glowing spikes and a myriad of textures. An imposing black moustache frames a chunky nose, menacingly lit by two glowing eyeballs – and one can only mourn the poor bats and cars that had to lose their lifes for that beautiful beard!

What a masterfully crafted character study – congratulations on this well-deserved win!

Runner-Up: baixoNL

The Tale of the Seven Dwarfs

Every now and then, a piece of art graces the halls of Brickscalibur – and baixoNL’s beautifully tall submission is exactly that.

With a beautiful color gradient and a layered approach to story-telling, this truly unique piece wowed us all – congratulations!

Honorable Mentions
Framing it

Perspective Matters

34 entries put things into perspective, framed things in a new light and showed us how thoughtful immersive scenes can be. Be it breathtaking sundowns or stunning interiors – every entry was masterfully framed.

There can only be two winners though, so without further ado:

Winner: Steinchenwunder

Freya's Statue

There is always light at the end of the tunnel – and no entry showed that better than this one:

In steinchenwunder’s submission, five brave shield maidens set out on a journey for divine support. Exiting the tunnel, right there in the distance, between colorful trees and in front of a sun meeting the horizon, their destination is finally in reach: Freya’s statue awaits them!

A masterful display of forced perspective – and a well-deserved win!

Runner-Up: jnj_bricks & friends

Omar's Travels

Hosting a fellowship of fabulous builders might just cause a masterpiece – at least that’s what happened here: „Omar’s Travels“ is a piece by 8 different builders, and a masterclass in how to collaborate seemlessly.

Congratulations!

Honorable Mentions
Dungeon Masters

Adventuring Party

A record-setting 67 entries sent adventurers into potential perils: Bards and paladins, dwarfs and elves, mages and minidolls – this category was a figbarf connoisseur’s dream.

There can only be two winners though, so without further ado:

Winner: Aurore

Fervents of Light

Clad in silver and gold, with weaponry and instruments to match, this sterling set of heroes stood out amongst all the adventurers. After all who else has a white lion amongst their ranks, and a bard to sing about their tales?

With three entries in the Top 5 we got to witness the Queen of Minifigures at her best: Congratulations, Aurore, for your well-deserved first place!

Runner-Up: Steinchenwunder

Adventuring Party

What a wonderful troupe steinchenwunder has sent out on a quest: Her leaf-blowing healer is quite the sight, and so is the necromancer with his band of undead friends, enjoying the centaur bard’s riveting soundtrack. But the one truly stealing the show must be the pony-riding paladin!

This association of alliterations won us over not only with their dazzling and colorful outfits but also with their loving names – congratulations for a well-deserved second place!

Honorable Mentions
Courageous Critters

Tails from the Meadow

What a joyful display of animal kingdom heroism! A brave 37 entries ventured into the meadow, celebrating the heroic tails that defend groves and feline friends alike.

There can only be two winners though, so without further ado:

Winner: woomy world

Tobu

He had us at „karrotana“, but woomy world struck gold with his submission, too:

His warrior is a long-eared fellow from the East: Impeccably dressed, a lavender scarf compliments the dark blue coat. Mid-jump, whirling up pink leafs (not to be mistaken for ears), Tobu is ready to defend the meadow!

A splendid character build that wowed us all – congratulations!

Runner-Up: Miscellanabuilds

Queen Amelia - Sovereign of the Mushroom Fields

Ornate golden swirls and bright blue flowers on dark green make for a stunning ensemble; a dress for a queen, surely. And Queen Amelia made for an equally stunning submission.

A well-deserved second place for a „Miscellanagirl“! Congratulations, Miscellanabuilds!

Honorable Mentions
Collaborative Casters

Elemental Emergency

Our 13 elemental masters conjured a stellar 26 entries, one more whimsical and wondrous than the next. Magical beings of all kinds came together for some truly spectacular entries.

There can only be two winners though, so without further ado:

Winners: Pepijn & Clockwork Bricks

From Friends to Foes

A tale spanning many years, this submission saw its protagonists play together as innocent children who – in a sudden turn of events – would find themselves as clashing foes many years later. The stark contrast between innocent village life and the elemental duel between fire and ice made for a compelling entry that wowed the judges!

A truly elemental entry – and a worthy first place in our collaborative category!

Honorable Mentions
Pixel Painters

Digitalibur!

11 entries tried to capture this year’s categories in the digital medium. Each unique and uniquely interesting, they showed what is possible when one leaves the physical bricks behind!

There can only be two winners though, so without further ado:

Winner: legobrickdesign

Harvest Day

Legobrickdesign’s love letter to the life of farming feels like a painting of an Old Master, created from(digital) bricks.

Birds flying in the distance, the morning sun is greeting the proud farmer, ready to meet the day with his scythe. One can feel the windmill turning its wings slowly in the far corner, and the clouds chasing the birds across the sky.

A mesmerizing entry completely deserving of this first plate – congratulations!

Runner-Up: Ghalad

The Monarchs Liberator - The Tyrant Has Been Vanquished

Ghalad’s heroic mouse knight was a shining light in this category – standing victoriously on top of her vanquished foe, she greets the now freed butterfly in peace.

Technically outstanding while managing to tell a compelling story, this is more than a worthy second place – congratulations!
