Fanfares!
The Results are in!
The fifth Brickscalibur has come to an end and our renowned judges have done their deed.
194 entries were submitted across six categories, and we were treated to countless creative creations that wowed judges and spectators equally.
Time to celebrate this year’s winners!

The Dragonslayer Award goes to...
Simulterious
This first-time participant turned heads with each and every one of his MOCs. Brilliant character builds, immersive scenes, imposing creatures, and category-winning minifigures – is there anything this builder can’t do?
This year’s Dragonslayer is Simulterious!
Congratulations for a well-deserved win!
Honorable Mentions

Hold your horses
Beasts of Burden
34 entries celebrated the trusted and helpful working animals and companions of many a farmer, knight or evil foe and gifted us with inspiring creature builds.
There can only be two winners though, so without further ado:

Winner: Jaskier
Winged Hussar
Lifelike and colorful, beautifully capturing the elegance and flow of a rearing horse, this Winged Hussar is a great harmony of motion and metal. The ornate spear’s flowing flag, his feathered wings and the flow of the horse tail are all great examples of lifelike design!
A masterful study by Jaskier – and a well-deserved win!
Runner-Up: Andreas Lenander
Kingdom of Makuria
Andreas gifted us a captivating immersive scene, showing a merchant with the most wondrous headpiece transporting goods to a market. The sun is burning down on the strong animal pulling the cart, masterfully sculpted, the fur soft and its horns impressive.
A touch of the exotic, Andreas Lenander’s scene won over the judges – and a well-deserved second place. Congratulations!
Honorable Mentions

Oriental Adventures
Arabian Knights
With 37 entries this category was anything but deserted: Intricate interiors, plenty of sand and many a magic lamp made for of a wide variety of entries celebrating the Arab World.
There can only be two winners though, so without further ado:

Winner: Marcel V.
Library of Barqa
Poor Rafael was stumbling through all the categories this year, but none of the destinations of his trip were as grand and impressive as this one:
An ornate carpet the size of a Summer Joust category, tall bookshelves containing the secrets of the orient and mosaics from floor to celing – Marcel V.’s Library of Barqa is a location where one could get lost for hours if not days.
A submission grander than it’s carpet, this masterful vignette scored a well-deserved first place!
Runner-Up: Taj: Brick Minstrel
A Night for Companionship and Chai
Few entries managed to feel as athmospheric and as inviting as this gathering of friends over tea. Taj: Brick Minstrel captured the warmth of a cozy evening masterfully.
With tasteful lighting and beautiful textures, this tale of companionship wowed us all – congratulations!
Honorable Mentions

Spocks & Lizards beware!
Rock, Paper, Scissors
23 entries pitted paper, rock and steel against one another. While respecting the classic rules, they all brought new perspectives and interpreations to this ancient and well-known game.
There can only be two winners though, so without further ado:

greenarj
Rock Golem
Looming high above its challenger, this rock golem means business – and this fight won’t be easy!
Its challenger is brave, the cape wailing in the wind, with a pair of weapons ready to find a target. But will they make an impact? Bringing scissors to a rock fight sure was a choice – in this case though it made greenarj a winner!
Simulterious
``That will not avail you``
Fitting that this submission was inspired by the classic Fright Knights – all there is to oppose the menacing giant is a puny flag of truce. What a fun take on this category!
Congratulations, Simulterious!
Honorable Mentions

Stronger Together
Faction Action
The variety in fashion that the 54 entries chose to clad their factions in was a sight to behold: Greens and purples or robes and armor – each entry a unique take and a tailor’s dream!
There can only be two winners though, so without further ado:

Winner: Simulterious
Foes of the Living
The billowing green smoke might have been a sign: This skeleton crew might have a bone to pick with us. Clad in black, with ghostly lanterns, a scythe, and other stabby bits, this band of reanimated foes is anything but spineless.
Simulterious hired a necromancer, and a good one at that – congratulations for a well-deserved first place!
Runner-Up: Aurore
Alrune and the Seven Goblins
A rag-tag group of goblins, armed to the teeth, with armor clearly collected from a variety of decomposing foes – not a sight a wandering huntsman might want to see. But our judges, oh, they were here for this bumbling crew and their scorceress!
The queen is back, and we are so glad – congratulations, Aurore, for a well-deserved second place!
Honorable Mentions

Piece of Cake
Cotton Candy Kingdom
Lollipops or liquorice – this category had a lot to offer: 29 entries ventured into the kingdoms of chocolate rivers and ice cream castles, each more delicious than the last.
There can only be two winners though, so without further ado:

Winner: Stan
The Frosted Valley Viper
Straight out of a confectionary’s nightmare, this viper is a frosted donut come to life:
Slithering through the frosted valley, with imposing fangs and piercing red eyes, BigBrickStan’s serpentine friend surely put fear into many a gingerbread knight. Or bakers, considering its scales would make for a year’s supply of sprinkles!
What a tasty treat – congratulations to a well-deserved first place!
Runner-Up: mrmaxxwell
King Syze, Ruler of Candia
Ruling with an iron first a rock-hard lollipop, don’t mistake King Syze to be as sweet as the throne he sits on! Framed by a minty beard, his stern face chronicles the many tough decisions that ruling over the land of marshmallow meadows and lollipop lakes brings with it.
A well-deserved second place for a tasty character build! Congratulations, mrmaxxwell!

Collaborative Conspirators
The Heist of the Century
A heist usually requires a scheming crew to pull off a daring deed – and boy did we have a number of those!
26 entries made an attempt at it – but there can really be only one ‚Heist of the Century‘:

Winners: LuisSal77 & mmargini
Of Mice and Magic
Our winning entries are a tale of mice and magic – but also turtles, croissants and big beards!
NPU-loaded to the brim, this delightful tale of a scheming witch and wizard executing a heist on the local treasury is a masterclass in brickbuilt characters, larger-than-minfigure interior design and – above all – expert storytelling. Who’d knew you could command an army of mice to push gold coins into a conveniently placed portal, right under the nose of the guardsmen?
A spectacular heist – and a truly worthy first place in our collaborative category!
Honorable Mentions

In for a side quest?
Individual Awards
With only six categories but many many more deserving submissions, this is the first year we’re handing out three additional awards. Side quests, if you may, for those that enjoy a little challenge on top of what the categories are asking for.
Without further ado, here are this year’s three winners:

Best Use of Color
Cerulean Count
Winner: JimBaggins
To the Last Bag - Part I
JimBaggins is no stranger to the connoisseur of LEGO colors – a master at work, he seemingly wields LEGO bricks like painters use paint brushes. This spectacular gradient of grays and the delectable color pallet for the furniture wowed the judges and spectators alike.
Congrats, JimBaggins, for now you can call yourself a „Cerulean Count“!
Best Part Usage
Elemental Sorcerer
Winner: FS Leinad
Chanticleer
A rooster is a colorful fellow and while this one displays a dazzling array of colors, the pieces FS Leinad used to sculpt his cocky friend make this one stand out: A frog and a parrot for the open beak, a Hero Factory lion mask for its hackle, and feathers, wings, and other fun pieces hidden throughout the rest of the build made this one stand out to the judges.
Congrats, FS Leinad, for now you can call yourself an „Elemental Sorcerer“!
Best Storytelling
Royal Poet
Winner: mmargini
Of Mice and Magic – Part II
Of Mice and Magic was a show-stopping collaboration this year – fitting that one of its parts would win the „Best Storytelling“ award as well: mmargini’s half of the heist has it all – emotive characters, magical elements that connect both entries and a write-up that wowed the judges.
Congrats, mmargini, for now you can call yourself a „Royal Poet“!

Pixel Painters
Digitalibur!
4 entries tried to capture this year’s categories in the digital medium. Each unique and uniquely interesting, they showed what is possible when one leaves the physical bricks behind!
There can only be two winners though, so without further ado:

Winner: danko
The Hero's Burden
And then he returns, the glorious hero, the Dragonslayer, the Iron Builder, to maybe simply show that the medium doesn’t matter: With his delightful froggy hero, standing tall on his mushroom-flocked fallen tree, ready to fend off foes and the competition, danko is back, delighting with the whimsy and smart piece usage that he’s known for.
A delightful entry completely deserving of this first place – congratulations!
Runner-Up: gGhost
Der Asra
When life’s against you and the pieces don’t arrive in time, maybe it’s time to go digital. At least that’s what gGhost thought, and boy was it worth it: With wonderful colors and textures and beautiful geometries his tribute to German poet Heinrich Heine wowed us all.
Technically outstanding with a poetic inspiration to match, this is a worthy second place – congratulations!
